Sand Volleyball (GR)
Bump, set, spike, and slay! This 6 v 6 league is more about the social game than the volleyball. Hang out between matches and get to know people in the community, and then when it's your turn to play, go have some fun in the sun! Register with your friends or as a free agent and get ready for some casual sets.
Teams will consist of 8-9 players. This is a non-competitive league, meaning we are not strict on calling lifts/carries; just don't catch the ball and throw it. Also, stay out of the net!
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
All participants must be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the season to participate.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Sand volleyball occurs for one season in the summer from early July to August at 8pm.

Practices
Does the league host any practice days?
Each season begins with a scrimmage open house and umpire training for new players. This is the only official practice hosted by the league. All other activities are organized by team captains.

Games
How long does the league go?
This is an eight-week league. Typically seven regular season games will be played with a championship tournament in the final week. This varies season to season depending on field availability and holidays, but a minimum eight games will be played.
Jerseys
Does GAAY Sports supply jerseys?
All participants will receive a team t-shirt as part of their registration.

Extra Costs
Are there any extra fees associated with the league?
If you need a 2XL or larger shirt, there is an additional fee.
There will be weekly host bars and/or food trucks as well if you choose to hang out with old and new friends.

Do I need to have any experience playing volleyball?
Nope! GAAY sports encourages athletes of all skill levels to participate. All we ask for is a winning attitude.
I'm not very athletic, will people on my team be upset with me if I drop a ball?
If they are, then they are playing in the wrong league, not you. We are here to have fun and meet new people. Though we can all get a little competitive at times, we need to remember we aren't playing for any extravagant prizes or money, so just let it go, and get set up for a rally!
Am I too old to play?
If you are asking the question, then you are not too old. If you think you might be able to, then yes you can! If you like volleyball, we got a spot for you!
I'm not gay, can I still play?
Of course you can! The second A in GAAY is for allies. As long as you support and love us, we welcome you to come be a part of our family!
