TEAM STRUCTURE

GAAY Sports prides itself in being a gender neutral league. We never ask any participant to identify their gender because we believe any gender is capable of greatness on and off the field. However, when we allow teams to build themselves, we expect them to use good judgment and have a gender diverse team that is balanced and reflective of the overall community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I register as an individual?

Unfortunately, for this event, we are only accepting team registrations. When you register, one person can pay for the entire team, OR you can put in the names and emails of the people on your team and split the payment amongst the 4 or 5 people.

Summer 2026

This one day, state-wide tournament is to determine who the baddest bitches at the beach are this year.  4vs4 volleyball (you may have a 5th and rotate in if you like).  This will be slightly more competitive than the social leagues we offer.  We will be calling lifts (no open-handed digs) and in the net consistently, so raise the level of your game.

Round-robin pool play will begin at 6 PM sharp, with you playing a minimum of three 1-set games before setting the bracket for a single-elimination tournament. Once in the bracket play, matches become best 2-out-of-3 to determine the winner.

Lastly, we highly encourage teams to be diverse in gender makeup.  The end goal should be a team that results at or near gender natural in makeup.
